Join Create Change NYC for Obamarama: a Party and Silent Auction to benefit Barack Obama on Friday, October 17th at The Bell House in Brooklyn.

Featuring performances by Anti-Pop Consortium, Dirty On Purpose, Dragons of Zynth, Takka Takka, and more. DJ sets by French Kicks and Cassettes Won't Listen Hosted by Eugene Mirman.

A silent auction of fine art, photographs, fashion, design goods and services will be held throughout the evening. Bid on items from Albert Watson, Another Magazine, Anthem, Art Streiber, George Pitts, Gravure, Inhabit, Lewis Cho, Mariah Robertson, Me Magazine, Mike Perry, Monocle, Nanette Lepore, Other Music, Patrik Ervell, Paul Davis, Philip Crangi, Rachel Comey, Rachel Mason, Soma, Stanley Donwood, Sunshine & Shadow and many more.

Create Change aims to raise over $20,000 for the Obama campaign through this grassroots event-with your help! A minimum donation of $25 to the Obama campaign is required to attend this event. Donations will be accepted at the door, or can be made in advance through our group's fund-raising page. If you choose to donate online, please be sure to bring a copy of your donation confirmation e-mail to the event. Your donation confirmation email is your ticket (one ticket per donation). If you are unable to attend, please consider making a donation now to help us reach our $20,000 fundraising goal! All online donors will be automatically entered to win a grab bag raffle.

Create Change NYC is a community group of creative professionals linked by their support of Barack Obama's 2008 presidential run and mutual desire to participate in this historical campaign.

Our mission is to generate financial support for the Obama campaign through grassroots initiatives that unite New York City's creative communities.

3. WHY

In these crucial weeks leading up to November 4th, the members of Create Change NYC recognize that we can do much more than just offer our vote to Barack Obama. Our financial contributions will make a tremendous difference in the success of his presidential bid.

In June of this year, the Obama campaign said it intended to raise $300 million in the five months leading up to the November election. It has raised just over half that figure so far. Despite Obama's record-breaking August fund-raising totals, The Wall Street Journal reported on September 16th that the Republicans currently have over $200 million in both party and campaign funds available for John McCain. That is roughly twice the amount of fiscal resources collected by Obama's campaign and the Democratic Party combined.
